The Challenge
At Caesars Entertainment, my role as the UX designer and engineer is to deliver exciting customer experiences across a wide set of product capabilities that fuel the imaginations of guests on the Las Vegas Strip and across the globe. Our iconic brands include Caesars Palace, The Flamingo, The LINQ, Harrah’s, Bally’s, Planet Hollywood, Paris, Nobu Hotel, and more. I design these experiences and interactions for Caesars.com and other digital products including the Hotel Booking Engine, Caesars Rewards Loyalty program, and mobile apps, among others. Designing for a wide set of digital products and iconic brands comes with the ultimate challenge.
Getting To Work
My collaboration across multiple product teams, vendors, and partners simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment led me to the necessity of establishing a design system that could be reflected in the release of new products and features across all web-based digital channels (mobile, desktop signage, and voice). We called it Jupiter.
As I started working as a front-end web developer at Caesars in 2017, I quickly realized how much we needed a design system. I took it upon my self to build a consistent UI library. After 2 years of steady working behind the scenes, it got adopted by our product owners across several teams. It quickly became the "Bible" and source of truth when it came to UI design and new features.
